You Are Everywhere!

You Are Everywhere!

People don’t wait, they Google. Whereever they are, whenever they have a need, they look for information that meets their need there and then.

What this means as a business is that you need to ensure that a person searching for what you do can find you on a mobile phone and then find the information they need easily on your site, and then Most importantly, they need to be able to contact you or buy directly.

Finding You
The starting point of choice for almost everyone is Google. Most people have it as the home page on their browser on their computers or have the Google search app on their phone.

In the not to distant past we could rely on SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) alone to improve your chances of getting found. The reality in the current world of Google Search is that you need to consider AdWords as a way of targeting people, especially on mobile phones.

On your mobile phone try searching for what you do, not who you are and see what results come up. The chances are the first screen of results you see will be adverts.

In the early days of Google AdWords people didn’t trust the adverts that were shown, but over the last few years, Google has refined the AdWords system to ensure that the ads shown are RELEVANT to the search being done. This has to led to greatly increased trust in the system, and more search are clicking on the AdWords as a first choice, not just scrolling down to the organic search area.

This has given this form of promotion renewed focus for everyone.

Finding Information
They have made it to your website on their mobile phone, but can they find things easily? Is the navigation logical? Have you put the most important things higher on the page? Is the telephone number a ‘click to call’ link so it literally will make the phone ring?

With more and more searches done from mobile phones, it is worth considering examining and adjusting the home page of your site with the mobile user in mind. This will not destroy the desktop experience as the viewers on the desktop version of the site should be there for the same reasons. As with doing other competitor research, use your mobile phone and look at how their sites look on the mobile versions, are they easier to use than yours?

The most important thing to do when you are changing your site is 'think like a customer'! If you would like help or a second opinion of what you want to do, please feel free to call us.
